PROFILE OF HOWARD P. WEISZ

Howard Weisz is a profit-oriented professional with over 25 years senior-level operations/management experience in manufacturing and supply chain.

Howard Weisz spent many years with Scott Paper Company, an integrated, worldwide paper company with annual sales in excess of five billion dollars. He started his career at Scott as an Industrial Engineer and culminated as Director of Transportation and Distribution. In this role he was responsible for a $200 million annual transportation and warehousing expenditure. Howard left Scott when it was acquired by Kimberly Clark and opened his own firm.

In 1996, Howard founded HW Associates, a consulting firm specializing in complete supply chain management. HW Associates, now in its tenth year, numbers among its clients national and international conglomerates such as GlaxoSmithKline, Leiner Health Products, Campbell Soup, Paper Pak Products, Bank One and many more.

    HW Associates accomplishments include:
  • The implementation of an MRP II system for a major pharmaceutical firm at its Asia facility. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget and resulted in improving inventory turnover by 100%.
  • Achieved over $2 million annual savings in transportation and business process modifications for a Fortune 100 Food Company.
  • Integrated customer service and warehousing operations for a company acquiring two related firms, growing from $100 million in annual sales to over $250 million.
  • Increased the "speed-to-market" production for a pharmaceutical company manufacturing private label vitamins and supplements.

Howard Weisz has a BS in Industrial Management from University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and an MBA from Temple University. He is a Member and past National President of Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC), an organization of over 5,000 logistics professionals. Member and past Regional Officer, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP.) Past Adjunct Professor of Accounting/ Marketing/Business Logistics & Warehousing at Rowan College and the Pennsylvania State University. Author of "Warehousing Operations & Management", published by the Traffic Service Corporation.
